OS ref
[edit]We usually have an OS grid reference for UK infoboxes that have co-oords. Suggest adding gridref to cover this. Keith D (talk) 23:12, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- What's the point of adding grid ref? It seems redundant to Coords. PamD 17:08, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- Many Trusts cover a wide area, and in a market system the area they serve may change from time to time. Rathfelder (talk) 20:17, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- The coordinates should be for their HQ. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 08:33, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Hospitals
[edit]Should it include names of main hospitals operated by the trust? (Somehow drawing a line below "main" so that we're listing in-patient units of at least "n" beds, rather than every outpatient service or daycentre). PamD 17:03, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- I suggest establishments operated by the trust. These services are not all hospital based. But anything which has a wikipedia article.Rathfelder (talk) 20:16, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- Added, as
|establishments=
. Please separate multiple values using {{Plainlist}}. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 08:43, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
- Added, as
successor(s)
[edit]As there's a field for "date closed", should there be a field for "Successor(s)", to link to whatever organisation(s) take over the trust's work if it's closed? PamD 17:06, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
Generalise?
[edit]Perhaps we need a more general template, {{Infobox NHS Trust}}
? It could have a field for "Date of gaining Foundation status", which will not always be the same as "start date". Not all NHS Trusts are Foundation Trusts, but large numbers of them have Wikipedia articles now thanks to Rathfelder (talk · contribs)'s huge efforts in recent weeks. A single standardised infobox would be useful. If a trust gains foundation status, its name will usually change too: We move the article to new name, then update the infobox by moving the old name into "Former name" and the new name into "Name", and adding the date of Foundation status (sourced?), and the infobox is ready to go. PamD 17:16, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- Moved to {{Infobox NHS trust}}; added
|foundation_date=
. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 08:44, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
We might well have a series of names - or a genealogy - for some organisations.Rathfelder (talk) 20:16, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- We have
|former_name=
. Multiple values can be entered by using {{Plainlist}} Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 08:51, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Logo?
[edit]I'm not sure whether any of the Trusts have a logo, but should we future-proof the template by including provision for one? Or is the advantage of using a standard template that we could then add an image parameter later if necessary? PamD 17:23, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- so far they all have to use the NHS logoRathfelder (talk) 20:16, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
Most hospitals have their own variation of the NHS logo, showing the hospital's name. Some Foundation Trust hospitals such as Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust have logos that are not based on the standard NHS template. Our old friends at University Hospital of South Manchester have two logos- a standard NHS style one and a completely different one. So it's probably worth having both a logo option and also an image option, for a picture of the main hospital site. Jpmaytum (talk) 01:06, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
Abbreviation?
[edit]Would it be useful to include a field for the standard abbreviation for a trust, eg UHMBT? PamD 17:26, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- Are these official abbreviations? How many have them? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:34, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
Geography
[edit]The NHS no longer has regions. NB NHS Trusts in Wales and NI are rather different from England. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rathfelder (talk • contribs)
- Should we (a) rename this infobox as "NHS Trust England", to allow for other boxes for the other countries, or (b) have a field for Country, so that England, Wales, NI can be entered, and then have the template use appropriate subfields according to that choice, I wonder? PamD 17:11, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
- A switching parameter, rather than separate templates, would be advisable. In what ways do they differ? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:36, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
I've tried it out on a real example: Sussex Community NHS Trust I think it's helpful. Certainly better than the infobox I picked up and used earlier. Community Trusts are the most difficult because they have been repeatedly reorganised, and they come in all shapes and sizes. One technical issue: The Monitor entry should not appear for a Trust which hasn't go Foundation status, because Monitor has no authority over them.Rathfelder (talk) 20:20, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
- I'll make it optional. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:36, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
Further documentation please
[edit]Is it possible to have documentation explaining the use of all the elements of the template? I wasn't sure how the headquarters element should be used, so guessed that it is to let people know which site in the trust has the main headquarters (ie see my edit to Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust) Likewise, it'd be useful to give some guidance on the Region (such as, should this be the NHS England cluster region, or the old Strategic Health Authority region). But great thanks for putting this template together - it really is a great step forward. Jpmaytum (talk) 01:12, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
CQC
[edit]the CQC section does not seem to be working. Inserting the right hand side of the address as requested does not produce a link to the cqc report. ClippednPinned (talk) 18:25, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
